Cash on Delivery Step by Step

Payment and delivery

Cash on delivery (COD) is a payment you collect from the recipient upon delivery. The recipient can pay in cash or by card. If you haven't set up cash on delivery yet, follow the article How to set up cash on delivery.

1. Confirm the recipient and signature

In the stop details, confirm that the recipient is on-site.
Have the recipient sign for receipt on the screen and confirm the signature.
Check the cash on delivery amount in the app.

2. Select the payment method

Cash: collect the full amount, return any change, and confirm the cash payment in the app.
Card: select card payment in the app. The Genius mobile pay app will open automatically; do not open it beforehand. The recipient will tap their card or phone against the NFC chip, which is usually located on the back of your phone. Wait for payment confirmation.

3. Complete the handover in the app

After a successful payment, return to the grid.online app and confirm the completion of the step.
Only then confirm the handover and hand over the correct parcel to the recipient.

Cash and card cannot be combined for a single COD payment. Hand in the collected cash after the order, within 24 hours at the latest.
